What is Spinal Decompression?
A therapeutic approach to solving spinal disc injuries such as a disc herniation.
Injured discs in the spine often can cause issues with stability in the spine, pain, and even cause nerve pain that radiates down your leg. While some injured discs can be aysmptomatic, the ones that are painful can be quite debilitating. For the most part, disc injuries do not like compressive forces. This is where spinal decompression comes in to help heal the damaged tissues.
Depending on the table, some spinal decompression therapies may look slightly different but the idea is the same. Take pressure off the discs to allow the disc to resorb back to where it is supposed to be. A lot of the times your lower back pain can be related to an injured disc which may require other forms of therapy in combination with this spinal decompression.
